About Daniel Scocco

I am a programmer and entrepreneur located in São Paulo, Brazil. If you want to read more about my entrepreneurial projects, please visit my personal blog at DanielScocco.com.

This blog was started back in 2011 to be an online notepad. That is, I wanted a place where I would be able to store and easily find my code snippets, small scripts and useful links and resources. Today the site receives around 20,000 monthly visitors, which is pretty cool!

I learned how to code by myself, although after a couple of years coding on personal projects I decided to take some computer science classes at the university, to gain a more solid foundation.

The first language I ever used was Python, and I am still quite fond of its cleanness and expressiveness. Over the years I used the following languages (most for personal/hobby projects, some for professional ones):

Over the last few years my focus was web and mobile apps. Lately I am having a lot of fun playing with chat bots, which I believe will become an integral part of the mobile experience for most users.

Whenever time permits I like to participate in programming competitions like Google Code Jam and Facebook Hacker Cup. I also like to go to hackathons. In the past I won a brand new car at Ford’s hackathon and Mastercard Masters of Code.
